Poem – “Flower in the Dirt”

Flower in the Dirt

by Anthony J

Clouds make way

The storm has passed through

A glimmering flower in the dirt

Just like me when with you

The sun shines, blazing

Humidity quite strong

Not a breeze in sight

The ice in our tea won't last very long

The creek bed is cracked and dry

The downpour already soaked in

Sparse plants are so thirsty

Their stalks are quite thin

Summer came early

Lasted a while too

But the heat can't oppress me

When I'm here with you
